The three volumes contain the route description, but much more the 1,000-year history and special features (ecclesiastical art, saints, relics) of all (310) churches and chapels along the route, as well as 48 monasteries and 118 points of interest. Thus, the books are above all a church guide of the Swiss Way of St. James.
