Time of past OR future Camino

Hi, I am planning to begin the Camino Frances about the 15th december. I am reading the threads and I notice that almost no one makes the Camino in the winter months. So the doubt began installing in my mind, but I can not make the Camino in another time but in Winter.
Is there in the Forum any special place to a newbie to learn about the main dificulties that will find? I am particularly worried about the weather conditions but also wiht some lack of phisical condition despite I am 30 years old and practice some sport activity twice a week.
What have the veterans of the Camino to say to a beginner about these two questions?
Thank you very much for your patience.

Hi and welcome in this virtual albergue ;-) If you do a search for winter camino here on the forum you will find quite a lot of information. Also important is this list of open albergues http://www.aprinca.com/alberguesinvierno/ Winter is a wonderful time to do the Camino and you will have a very special Christmas. Buen Camino, SY

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
I hiked the Camino for three weeks last winter and will be returning this winter as well - leaving from the United States on January 17 and will fly into Madrid. I am a Catholic priest who has a very hectic schedule. The winter is really the only time I can get away for 2 - 3 weeks at a time. I loved the Camino last January - a lot of solitude and time for prayer and reflexion - just what I needed. However, in the winter, a pilgrim needs to be more flexible The hospitaleros and others along the way have information about weather and trail conditions. I had to alter my plans when big snow storms hit last January - I could not go through the Cross of Iron on O"Cebriero. Both the trail and the roads were closed to those places were closed due to huge amounts of snow. But the trail has a stark beauty that time of the year. Buen camino.
