It seems that the Xunta is fully behind the Camino de Invierno. and after a visit to Panton the "Minister of Culture" (Roberto Varela) has committed to building an albergue of 20 to 30 beds somewhere near to Panton.

experience tells me to be wary of this sort of thing. There is not actually a commitment to anything in these statements, apart from stating that there is a budget for "obras de mellora e sinalización", which could mean anything. "prestar un apoio importante para poñer en valor" (pure flannel); "O sitio e o máis adecuado" (compared to what?)

Politicians are very good at giving 'positive messages' but that doesn't mean anything will actually happen.

BTW I found a simular article about this visit from another source, but that was less forthcoming with details.
