Nunca se camina solo
I arrived here the other day find an air of exhaustion in the Pilgrims´Office. This morning the total for August was produced - 35,071 compostelas were issued in the Office during the month of August.

Such were the numbers that some days pilgrims had to queue for up to three hours to get into the Office. Every single desk was staffed for the 12 hour shift of 9am - 9pm and there were also supplementary volunteers. "Only" twice the police had to be called to help close the door at 9pm because understandably tired and frsutrated pilgrims wanted it to be kept open!

As Ivar mentioned a couple of weeks ago there is a new Office being prepared next door. The Pilgrims´ Office will expand into this creating a much bigger space. There will be more desks and facilities available in preparation for the double numbers expected next year. The address remains the same - all part of the same building.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I would enjoy volunteering to work in the office if that is possible after my Camino next year. I am fluent in French and English, but speak no Spanish. Would I be of any assistance or would my language barrier prevent me from being helpful? If I could be of service, how do I volunteer?

Thanks for any information you could provide.
