I am currently walking the Camino Levante and have enjoyed peaceful nights up to tonight. I arrived back fro dinner at 9.45pm to find that a local brass band were practicing in the room directly above the albergue. When questioned, they advised they should be finished by midnight. Too late to relocate to the hotel. Future Levante walkers might want to check which are the scheduled practice night's before checking in.

Happened to me too but I never go to bed before midnight so it was all cool. In fact I even enjoyed it ;)

Wish you more calm overnight stays from now on :)

Thanks Kinkyone. I am on the trail to Chinchilla now and the issue is now in the past. Just bitumen roads in front of me. Regards, Middo.

Oh boy, do I remember the band practice playing way past midnight! Beds were also not the best I recall but heck, wasn't it free (vs. donativo)?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

When these things happen they can feel tiresome, but subsequently they are woven into the rich tapestry of our camino memories.
I'm sure this episode will be featuring in your camino anecdotes for many years to come!
It would probably be one of many good stories to tell in later years. For me, I would much rather have a quiet night's sleep! 🛏;)

LTfit you are correct it was donativo, key collected from local bar and left on windowsill of the supermarket opposite if I recall correctly. The beds were basic but comfortable. The shower was fine. I ate my bread and cheese in the small plaza round the corner. I climbed up to the small church for a viewpoint over the village. So a band was practicing. It is their facility, passing pilgrims are guests and in the spirit of Camino accept things as they are. All part of seeing things in positive rather than negative which is what it is meant to be about.
Enjoy Chinchilla with its castle and pilgrim discounted hostel room where you are probably guaranteed a reasonable nights sleep. Buen Camino.
Don.

Hi middo. Where exactly is the albergue in Higueruela?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi middo. Where exactly is the albergue in Higueruela?
Hi Black and red. Sorry for the late response.

When entering Higueruela, proceed up Calle Levante to Hotel Posada on the left to get your key and selling. Then proceed along Calle Posada which runs beside the hotel. Turn right into Traversia Plaza all the way to the top where you will find a tree in the middle of the plaza. Turn right into Calle Ramon y Canal. The albergue is the first building on the left, second metal door. The key can be returned to Hotel Posada and left on the window shelf facing Calle la Posada.

Sound confusing? I think so too and I just typed it. Good luck and buen Camino. Middo.
