NOT a serious thread

I have no idea what you are saying, Kirkie! Did I miss something early on? I don't wanna plow through 3200+ posts to possibly find out!
This lady is from the US ... possibly the best female blues artiste around today ...
there are many live versions of this on youtube (the best have recently been removed  ) but they are probably too far ott for here ;)

Nice! –thank you.

As I get you are into the blues, here is one for you @chinacat , the Danish blues singer Sanne Salomonsen doing the old classic Were Blue Begins.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m481mjvdQDE

(I fiddle a little with the blues guitar myself )
I loved it ... thank you!!!

It’s turning out to be a rich day for new music

Have you recorded anything, @stgcph ?
... that you could post here?

And yes ... love the blues ... ❤️

Oh no! I’m nowhere near professional. I try to play Albert King style –in my opinion he is one of the greatest. Here’s one where he plays his famous Gibson Flying V (you will notice, that he plays left handed and that his guitar is stringed ‘upside down’ with the bass strings at the bottom).

I just wondered if you’d recorded yourself ever ... :)
That deck set-up of yours leads me to believe that you are no slouch when it comes to ‘hi fi’ equipment ;)

A bit of explanation required!
It’s quoted from a nonsense poem of the 1700’s
Here goes....
Hey Diddle diddle
The cat and the fiddle
The cow jumped over the moon
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And the dish ran away with the spoon!

Thought itcapt for a bit of silliness and a line related (a bit)!
Have fun!

An abrupt ending .... :(
... to a great number
Yes, I know; it was an early recording. He later developed it further -and better.
Did you know that he was nicknamed 'the purple bulldozer'? He practiced for 7 years before he ever played in public (blues is hard to do) and in those years he worked at the New York Harbour driving a bulldozer and because he was so black, in the light on the stage his face sometimes appeared almost purple...

No... I didn’t ... :)
... knew about the guitar, though ... ;)

When I was playing the video, my beloved walked past and said: “who’s that? Albert King?”

Do you like Stevie Ray Vaughan? ... another talented life cut short ...

Now THAT I relate to! It was a nursery rhyme when I was a kid. There is no explanation as it's just a bunch of nonsense...like this NOT serious thread "usually" is! ;)

On FB someone asked for bathroom names in Spanish.

Do they name their bathrooms? Mines called Doris!
I don't remember about Spain except they often had cute metal plaques on the doors, one denoting a female wearing a dress, and another with a man wearing pants, which is pretty straightforward.
However, on the Le Puy route this past June, I took this photo on a bathroom door. Look closely at both drawings. ;) Screenshot_2018-08-16-16-01-09.jpg

I deleted a sign post.
It was a bit too much.
Thank you from my eyes, for deleting it @nycwalking, whatever it was.
But I have to say...it's astonishing and a credit to our collective maturity (HA!) that it's taken us over 3300 posts to finally succumb to primal humor about bodily functions and parts.
I have no red socks but it does leave me red-faced, so it's good for something...;)

Well, we've all gotten carried away at some point.;)
But I DO hope we can stay on the silly side of the street, rather than the grungy one.
Besides being cleaner, it's actually a whole lot funnier (Well, just my opinion, FWIW...).

Ah talking about being on the silly side of the street ( yes indeed @VNwalking ) : the wonders of getting lost in translation. Like " raining cats and dogs "...First time I heard that in English class I found it kind of funny ( being Dutch speaking ).

Can you imagine the bewilderment when I heard a Flemish guy suggesting to his English colleague : " So tonight we are going to put the flowers outside "... The Englishman almost had three pots of houseplants in his arms to put out on the street where in fact it is just a general expression to tell your guests you will go out for food and drink and have a good time....;)

Ok, now I'm writing it down I hardly know if I'm making any sense. to you all...But then again when do I ?....:p

Sorry Sabine! My bad!....have to remember idioms are not so inclusive on this thread!
I’ll be doing a thousand lines along with my revision...failed miserably!
The Spanish have a lovely idiom (well some of them do) for when it’s cold...and I’ll try to get this right!
When it’s cold they say “ hace frio...como el agua del Rio” ...it’s as cold as the waters of the river!

A camino is much less fun when you don't get lost - and getting lost makes for much more interesting and amusing stories. So very warmly welcome back @domigee!...hee hee...and lets hear them...;)

You have been much missed!!!
Good to see you again :)

That’s quite a lot of ‘lost’ kms ... where, when, how, why???
Well, 800 km (ish) from St Jean to Santiago then 100 km (ish) from Ferrol ....back to Santiago. Whilst walking to Bruma I decided to go my own way  (as you do)... So ended up walking more hills than necessary. I needed space to think :D
Ps: I never said I was ‘sane’ or even ‘reasonable’ :D:D:p
