Thanks to all who gave me encouragement and advice about doing another Camino! I'v taken it all to heart and am planning for the Via Francigna to Roma . Hoping to go in October. I may skip some parts by jumping on a train or a bus because I want to walk for 3 weeks. Probably starting in Pavia (about 45 km south of Milano). I'm a grandma x 2 now and help my daughter a lot. In any case, the cities and villages hold more interest for me than trekking in the mountains cuz I can get lots of that at home. Plus, carrying water and food is heavy. Boo. The forum for the Via Francignais is very helpful. Something I found there is the app Pocket Earth. Thanks again kind Caminoists!

@konnie , hi and I'm a grandad x 1. In three weeks I start from Canterbury and intend to make Reims (just 400 km) this year and maybe beyond. Then return next year for another go and finish when I can.

I like your thought to hop on a bus/train when the going is awkward or just to make progress. I am quite certain the early travellers / pilgrims would not heitate to catch a ride on a passing cart when the opportunity arose.

Kia kaha (you take care, be strong, get going)
