hello all,

thank you for all of your words of wisdom throughout this forum-- it's great to see so much advice scattered around. i plan on walking the french way this november-december, and was wondering if anyone had else was planning to do the same, or if anyone has walked this time of year before.

unless i connect with another walker in this forum, i will be walking alone, so i would appreciate any tips for solo walking/safety, as well.

many thanks!

@readytowalk, there will be other people walking, perhaps forum members. We are quite a small proportion of the numbers who do walk, so not connecting with someone here won't mean you have to walk alone.

It would pay to ask more specific questions once you have had a look at the information available here. General requests are just a bit more difficult to respond to, but members will try nonetheless.

I hope you enjoy your pilgrimage.

I am presently walking the camino and started know my own but have met so many friendly and helpful people along the way. Sometimes I walk with a familiar or new face and sometimes alone but you will always see a fellow pilgrim at the albergue.
All the best and Buen Camino!

There is a calander on this forum where you can list where you are starting from and what date. You can connect with pilgrims. I found a guy here but was unable to connect the day I walked. I did connect with other pilgrims along the way and another who stayed at Cocquille Nepoleon where I stayed in SJ. The Camino works in mysterious ways... My very last night in Santiago I had a bottle of liqueur I wanted to give away ( went to Finastierre and bought it there. Only used 3 shots myself and 2 Camigos we do not really drink and did this to celebrate out journey) went to a Resturant for dinner. After eating I went to a table and asked if they spoke English and told them my story... Before I was finished the guy says "Nelia, it's me we were to connect Sunday before I walked" what do you think the odds were??? You never are alone on the Camino. I have met many wonderful people and a few are now life long friends from around the world. Search the forum and there is a man who puts together a list of people leaving within that month.
Buen Camino.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Buen camino 'readytowalk'. I hope the journey is going well for you.
