Numbers in july & August?

Planning to do SJPDP to Santiago starting 7 Sept 2010 but confused by apparent contradiction in posts on forum - some refer to business being down but others to numbers being hugely higher up to June. Is there anywhere to get arrival statistics for July 2010 & August to date?

Also, the May/June 2010 statistics indicate 2010 numbers are about double those for 2009 so if that trend is continuing that means 22,000 arrivals in October 2010. Is enough accommodation still open in latter stages of camino to cope with these numbers?

You can find all the stats on the Pilgrim Office website.

For August you'll hve to add up the daily numbers.

Stats don't show the whole story! Numbers might be down in St Jean Pied de Port or on other routes (perhaps an indication that numbers of foreign pilgrims are down) but higher in Galicia, showing that Spansh pilgrims have made their Holy Year pilgrimage.

HI, do what we are doing,. we starting the Camino three of us on the 1st September from London and you know what? we are only looking foward to it .As it has many a meaning the Camino and one of them is that you can nock at anyones door and ask for shelter as a Pilgrim and this is said from some one that comes from Spain. My advice is do not worry about that and just go along with others, am sure you will have a great Camino, maybe we meet just have a Buen Camino.
