Older Altus poncho

Hello there!

I found these ponchos on sale and was wondering if people felt that it was the older style poncho?

We want an altus but have heard about the newer ones. BTW, has anyone tried the light version?

That looks like the older velcro wrist closure. The new ones are elastic, I have heard.

This is their new one, I think. One of the photos seems to have velcro wrists, but the others don't.

Besides being about 120g lighter, does anyone knows what features were dropped or changed to come up with a lighter weight?

The thread below has a lengthy discussion on rainwear. Around the August 2012 point, there are posts which discuss the old and new Altus. I have the older version which I purchased in 2007 and have not seen the newer one, so can't personally comment on the difference(s).
