What do you do when your Camino is over? The glib answer is "start planning your next one!"

A year ago today, I boarded the airplane for Spain that started my Camino. I'm feeling a bit - I don't know the word - nostalgic maybe? I'm missing the Camino, and I'm missing my Camino family.

Re-integrating into the "normal" world is difficult after the Camino, and we've had lots of threads here about that. But what are your experiences one year on? Two?

For me, the immediate post-Camino blues seem to have returned.

And for the record... we're planning to walk the Frances again in 2016. ;)

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Just as you suggested, it wasn't long after I finished the camino Frances that I started to plan the next. This year I walk two weeks later on the camino Portuguese, setting off on 1 May. And I'm already considering the via de la plata for next year!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
As the first anniversary of my first ( and so far only) pilgrimage nears and the forum threads capture the building excitement of this years first timers, it is difficult to realise you will not be going - I will just have to dig out the photos again and imagine going through the Spanish Gate in SJPdP

Here's hoping the weather behaves over the next few weeks for this year's April pilgrims

Well, we're planning on starting in SJPdP just after Easter, 2016. I walked from Roncesvalles (one year ago tomorrow), and met up with my wife in León. As in so many other things, she met me half way. ;)

Now, of course, she wants to walk a lot longer! That will have to wait for money and vacation time to accrue.

Yesterday was a rough day, full of missing the Camino and my Camino family.

Since we can't walk this year, I've decided to deal with it by using this one-year anniversary to begin typing my journal – rough as it is – and posting the entries to my Camino blog day by day. I'm kind of thinking of it as a "virtual Camino".

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

What a wonderful idea Thom! Doing this will also help me during the next few months before can walk again!

I walked into Santiago with my Camino family and best friend exactly a year ago today. Missing it every day...and the feeling just seems to get stronger. <heavy sigh> I now fully understand why pilgrims go back time and time again!

Greetings all. I was scheduled to start in Porto in a few days. Went for a 20 km hike yesterday (my longest thus far) and almost didn’t make it. By the time I got home, I could hardly walk...
I have a confession. I am terrified of - and yes now feel free to laugh - the top bed in bunks with no railing/fence (something to stop you falling out). I've managed to get away with it except...
This is the latest fad for Camino stay out of the wind and woods 🤗.

Yes, pardon me. So I've just read this cool article about the closing of the Puerta del Perdón in the Monastery of Santo Toribio for the holy year (and it is a very beautiful peurta for sure). It...
