Options for travelling back to Dublin from Pamplona: Biarritz, Madrid, Barcelona??

Time of past OR future Camino
I plan to do my first Camino this year
Hi all,

We are flying from Dublin to Biarritz and then walking from SJPP to Pamplona.
We are trying to work out the best way to get back to Dublin as quickly as possible after finishing Camino as we don’t have many holiday days from work to take.

I’m looking into the option of a bus from Pamplona to Biarritz and then fly from Biarritz to Dublin. However any of the buses I have found don’t leave Pamplona until 11am and would not make it to Biarritz in time for the flight.

Does anyone know of any other bus companies, perhaps local companies that offer an earlier transfer service?

If this is not an option then I am considering Bilbao, Madrid or Barcelona airports although the Bilbao flights are much more expensive unfortunately!

Has anyone travelled from Pamplona to Barcelona or Madrid? And if so did you find it straight forward?!

Hola,

So many different options. This app could help you a bit:

If you would go from Pamplona to either Barcelona or Madrid or Bilbao it will eat up you time and money but will maybe get you a better flight connection.
If you will fly into Biarritz I would say go for a return ticket (probably a bit cheaper) but again I don't know when are you travelling, when is your return flight etc.. There is also a train connection from Pamplona to Biarritz not just the bus. And you can check if there are any offers for car ride share on BlaBlaCar.

Buen Camino!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Bus from Pamplona to Bilbao. See Rome2rio for times.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Your quickest option with your time restraint as you know is to go to Bilbao and take Aerlingus directly back to Dublin. I have travelled from Pamplona to Madrid and also to Barcelona. Yes, straight forward. They both take time, and by the time you pay for transport and food, maybe Bilbao/Dublin is more appealing. Blablacar would be perfect if you have nerves of steel waiting and hoping for the perfect match for your needs.
