Options to Paris/Madrid/London from Burgos?

I've had to make some alterations to my plans. Instead of completing the Camino in one try, I'm going to have to break it up into smaller portions. The first leg I'd like to set up is SJPdP to Burgos. I don't know where I'm flying into first, although Paris seems to be the best bet, but I would like to fly out of Madrid.

I've only got about 2 weeks to do this, so I may have to cut out SJPdP. :(

Help!

I did cut my Camino in two; StJPdeP-Burgos was my first leg.

From Canada I flew to Paris and then to Bayonne/Biarritz. Small train to St JPdeP. Remember the jet lag on day of arrival as you have a tough going to Roncesvalles. I did stop at the very fine auberge in Orisson (half way up the mountains). You could take the departmental road instead of the route Napoléon but you would miss wonderful sights.

Two weeks is good as you probably want to spend a bit of time in Pamplona, Burgos and maybe Logrono.

Buen camino. One day I may do it again !

Ulysse, thank you for your kind response. I had put my plans on hold because of some issues at work, but those thankfully cleared up today, so I will explore the Paris/Biarritz flight options again.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Last September I walked from St Jean PdeP to Fromista. From there I bussed back to Burgos ( only 1 bus per day at 7:15 am) and took a coach from Burgos to Madrid. Non stop about two and a half hours. Pleasant journey arrived in Madrid before noon.

John, do you remember the name of the bus that you took from Burgos to Madrid? I was going to take the train, but if I can get on an express bus, I'd prefer that so I have more time to spend in Madrid.

I caught the bus at central bus station in Burgos. easy to find, buses leave from street directly outside office. company was ALSA but if I remember correctly the actual coach was Continental. Fare was about 14 euro

Correct.

Continetal has almost hourly bus between Madrid and Burgos; site is at: http://www.continental-auto.es/index.do

The bus station is just across the bridge close to the cathedral. I have good memories of Burgos as I finished there in 2005 and started from there in 2006. Very nice town and the most beautiful cathedral in the world (for me anyway)

Ulysse,

This June I intend to start walking from Leon and will fly into Vittoria. what's the best way of geting from Vittoria to Leon, bus to Burgos and second bus from there to Leon? or is there an option to take a train?
