Does anyone know if the Ostello di Cassio is open? Email to the address I have bounces back as undeliverable and I have not gotten an answer at the telephone number I have. Does anyone know how to reach them?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hello @kmrice you don't say what number you rang.

In my address book I see a number for "Ostello di Cassio" and then a number which I labelled (in 2018) "Cassio Correct".

The first is ‭00 39 0525 64521‬
The 'correct' is ‭00 39 339 3203824‬

I don't know where I got them at the time! And I am not clear why the wrong one is shorter than the correct one. But I know I managed to speak to them before I got there.

Good luck.

Tim

Thanks for the speedy replies! That is the same number I have tried without getting an answer, and that is the address from which my emails bounced. I'll keep trying to call. It's pretty early in the season so perhaps they are not open yet.

Thanks again,

Karl

The number I have is maybe even older (2016) +39 339 757 7670.
If I remember correct the ostello is closed in "winter" time. but I don't know when they open for the season.

As a side note- If you cannot obtain accommodations there, a bit further up the road is Berceto where there are a number of well established and clean places to stay.

Didn't you stay at Casa di Marty in Berceto (one of my favourite stops on the VF). They've also good gelato there opposite the church.

Anyway, if you google Berceto Ostello then there are a list of ostellos come up. One is the Cassio one and the number according to google is +39 328 874 1814.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions. I have accommodations in Berceto (Casa di Marty had no vacancy) but I want to stop in Cassio to cut down on the kilometers. I’m thinking the Ostello di Cassio may not be open yet so I’ll try again in a few days.

For recent information on ostellos, there is an active Via Francigena FB group here.
