Pamplona Airport - How long does it take...

...before checked luggage is available?

We're coming in from Boston by way of Madrid. I currently have 50 minutes allotted between flight arrival and taxi pick-up. I made that plan before my walking companion decided to bring their old sticks along.

Anyone with recent experience? If we need longer, it would be courteous of me to notify the taxi company so that they could adjust their schedule.

Pamplona is a very small airport. The plane that flies in is also likely to be pretty small. 50 minutes is more than enough, the only thing that could throw that off is if your flight is late, but I assume that your taxi co. knows your flight number. Or you could tell your friend to just carry on the sticks, as I've done every year for the past 8 or 9, but that gets us into sensitive forum territory. ;)

I had thought to just have the sticks broken down in his pack but was concerned that would be a problem in Madrid upon transfer to the in-country flight.

If you tell me that is not a problem, I will put it to my friend for his decision and absorb the risk of it going wrong. Not gonna call you out if it goes wrong either, your candor is appreciated!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Put them along the back of the pack parrellel to the backpacks frame evenly spaced out....... Good luck and be prepared to loose them. Works for me every time....
 
Also see who is on your flight you may be able to share your taxi as I did in 2015. 100 euro turned in to 25 each with my 3 new friends
