My friend from Mexico is looking for a way to go from Pamplona to Saint Jean on the 20th of sept, aparentely Alsa is not running buses anymore in september. Anyone that can help in this matter ?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I'd be surprised if Alsa is not running buses in September, since it's the most popular month for pilgrims to start from SJPDP.
Perhaps their September schedule has not been published yet?

That is what I was thinking .....

I’ll be in Pamplona on Sept. 22nd attempting the same thing. Bus or Taxi should still be options I’m guessing, …hoping? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Meanwhile I found out that Alsa is not running any buses to SJPDP later than the 4th of september. Traveling to Biarritz-Bayonne is an option or a taxi. But I also found out that it is possible that the buscompany Artieda is going to Roncesvalles and from there it is possible to take a taxi. I have sent an email to that company but still waiting for an answer. To be continued ....

I have been checking for cheaper rides to Saint Jean from Pamplona for September 25, but from what I see; planes, buses, and trains arrive at Pamplona around 2pm. For now Conda buses' schedule for August from Pamplona to SJPdP depart @ 12noon & 230pm, arrive at SJPdP at 145pm & 415pm respectively, Mon & Sat; Tue-Fri as well Sun depart @ 12noon arrive at 145pm at SJPdP.

That's why it looks like our family of three will have to take a taxi to SJPdP. Anyone interested and willing to ride share to make it a little cheaper and more convenient? September 25, 2022, Sunday, at around 3pm or so. Thanks.

I think you are right. I emailed to "Rome2rio" which operate ALSA a little while ago and I got a letter like this. "The reason no tickets are showing up for your journey on 14th September is because a lot of European operators change the schedules at the end of the summer season around the first week of the September and so they have not released the new schedules for the tickets. They suggest to wait a little while and the new schedules will come up then". I hope this reply will find you to ease up your worry.

I hope so, the sooner the better, it would take away some worries for so many I guess.

Anyhow if there is anyone interested in sharing a taxi from Pamplona on the 19th or 20th of september, please pm.

I guess it is time to mention Pamplona's Teletaxi San Fermin where you can schedule a taxi to SJPdP online. They will attempt to match you with others going the same day so you can share the fare.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Rome2Rio does not operate ALSA.

Rome2rio is an Australian online multimodal transport journey planner per Wikipedia.
It was my misunderstanding about Rome2rio. It is a self-service travel search engine where they give you the tools to get you from A to B.
However they have confirmed by checking on ALSA’ s website and no schedules to show up for most part of September as of yet. Their recommendations are just wait for a while. Sorry for a little confusion.

So I land in Pamplona airport on the 1pm or so flight arriving. Then I scope out others with backpacks. Then I talk to them. Then we share a cab to SJPdP. Last time it was 35 euros each. Shared by 3.
Is it easy to get a taxi to go to SJPP without advance booking?

Well totally usually, with caveats. See it's a small airport, few flights arriving. When my flight arrived late, the taxi stand was painfully slow. I have a feeling the local taxis know the schedule but not the delays. So, it took a little while longer than I would say is "easy", but taxis showed up eventually and I made it to SJPdP.

I worry about our luggage not arriving with us if I prebook a taxi. I would rather wait for a taxi when we are ready to leave the airport. Thanks!

Ok, so this is just my advice based on previous trips and all just related to personal preferences. I don't check luggage ever. I know my bag is in the overhead bin... I grab it, I leave. 36L backpack, poles to be purchased in country.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Following this topic. Was hoping to get from Pamplona bus station to SJPP on Sept 14. Saw on a Camino FB page today that a local from Pamplona confirming the ALSA bus only runs to Sept 3.

Just checked the ALSA site. The schedule for September is now showing.

Thanks for checking. I have two things to add.
(1) You still need to enter your destination by typing in Saint. St. doesn't work.
(2) Someone designed the website to be worse than the last one I saw

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Likewise for me on August 31. Hoping I can taxi since I’ll miss the noon bus.
