Hello ,
Name here is jim , as the title suggests starting the walking part of my Camino soon , I have been in the planning stage for a bit . I have been wandering around this forum for a few days and while there is some very varied and interesting topics and information is seems easy to get somewhat lost and I find myself reading old posts a lot of the time .
I would like to ask if there is anyone currently on the camino what the conditions are , is it still mild , are there frosty mornings yet , is it mucky yet and how bad .
From what I can see the weather isn't too bad for November with a few very cold nights but mild in general and that trend continues into early December .......
I have read a post from last year which describes around 10- 15 pilgrams per day on the camino , would this be a general trend for this time of year .
In general any info you might think that would be of benefit that is current would be appreciated.
Thank you for your time in advance !.....

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
For an idea on the number of people on the trail why not visit the stats from the Pilgrim office. They will show the n7mber of people arriving in Santiago and asking for a Compostela based on where they left from, per month. https://oficinadelperegrino.com/en/statistics/

@ Anemone del Camino ,
Thank you very much for those links , very informative .
It was interesting to read of the new certificate of distance .
Thanks again for your reply .

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Jim. I’ve been on Camino for about two weeks. It can be cold early morning and night but sunny and warm during the day. Just reached Burgos and have had only one day rain so far so mud not a problem yet. I have used up to four layers at night, quick dry tee, quick dry long tee, fleece and light rain jacket. Clothes can take time to dry too if there is no tumble dryer so I have found that three sets of tees and essentials work wellfor me. Buen Camino. EL

@EL01
Thanks very much for that update . Having looked at the weather it is due to turn wet in November and there are a few very cold nights due but nothing too serious , more the wet and rain ,
Do you find that there are dryers available at the alburgues you have been staying at or are the like hens teeth and a rare sight ..... Thanks again , Buen camino !

Some yes and some no.prob 40%yes at a guess for me so far . Some people I spoke with tried to only stay at albergues if there are washing and drying facilities.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Currently in Pamplona.
Weather is mild. Long sleeved T-shirts. Trousers. Possibly shorts.
Mornings cooler but perfect walking weather with a heavy rucksack.
Loads of pilgrims at Roncesvalles but after Zubiri we've been mystified as to where they've gone!
Certainly no problem in finding accomodation....but we've splashed out in Pamplona and gone for a hotel.
The snoring, alarms set for 5am (5am!!!), and general cacophony has informed our choices post Roncesvalles!!
Otherwise fabulous walking conditions.

In Astorga today.
Temperatures are very nice: 5-10 at start (8:30), 20-25 in the afternoon.
Forecasts are stable for the next 7 days, but some rain for the next weekend...
Attention, from 1st November, a lot of private albergue and hostals are closing...
Buen Camino, Jacques-D.

Hi Jim, Ill be walking about the same time but from Burgos to Santiago de Compostela and hopefully on to Finisterre. If you have a smart phone with you, you can download an app such as Camino Pilgrim or Camino de Santiago in Play Store. It may not be the most up to date info but I have it just in case and it lists things that each Alburgue has such as washer, drier, wifi, kitchen, etc. I dont plan to use for everyday but on days when it might be improtant that I want to wash and dry clothes or spend some time emailing home, etc.... Ill know where to look. It also lists Alburgues that are opon past October and Alburgues that will be closed after October. Helpful tool. Buen Camino!!
