Take the bus if it available. It is difficult to rely on others to show up on some random schedule given the sad state of the transportation industry today.

I arrived in Pamplona once by train and the other time by plane. While waiting at the train station and in the airport departure lounge, I looked for pilgrims - very easily identifiable. I asked if they were going to St-Jean, Both times, I was able to share a taxi with 3 other pilgrims to St-Jean. At the Pamplona airport, there will be taxis waiting. The total cost $110. to deliver us each at our hostal in St-Jean, but for crying out loud, give the driver 120 Euros. It is well worth it.

Thanks so much. I will just see how it pans out at the time.

Yes, take the bus if you can. Please don't rely on promised share a ride. There was this guy who swore up and down he'd wait and share ride, but soon as he arrived in Pamplona and saw other pilgrims looking for share ride to SJPDP, he was gone and left us wanting. There will be many others needing share ride to SJPDP in Pamplona, so don't worry.

When we shared a taxi from Pamplona train station to SJPDP just last September 2022, we paid the standard fare of 135 Euros for all four (4) of us. NOT for each!

Yes thank you, I did give it more thought after I posted my message. I am staying the night in Pamplona so there would be the issue of where to meet if ride sharing and whether they would show up. Then if there was no show I might miss the only bus for the day. Logic kicked in a bit late but thank you for taking time for your reply and confirming what I was now thinking. Bien Camino

Thank you. Yes I think I will stick to the bus. If I end up having to pay full taxi fare then so be it. Better than waiting around for people to show up then you never see.

We arrive in Pamplona by train from Barcelona on April 14 around noon. Will carry on to SJPP that day. Hoping for a ride share however bus would be fine. That said, do you have any info on the SJPP bus schedule? I checked Rome2Rio, the route is identified however no schedule? Perhaps it is a seasonal run? Thanks

Yes. Take the bus if available.
It happened to us Sep 2022. This guy promised up and down for days he would wait and share ride with us to SJPDP. As soon as he saw others heading to SJPDP, he left with them. Poor us!

Yes. It is seasonal but ALSA has just posted schedules so Rome2Rio hasn't gotten them get. Go to alsa.com to get the schedule. Only one a day scheduled now. Spell St. as Saint.

Hi, I'll arrive in Pamplona on that day around 1:30 p.m. I checked the bus schedule and I wouldn't make it. I'm looking for a share ride, too.

Hi!
I’m also looking for a ride share from Pamplona to SJPP on Saturday April 15, 2023.
I arrive at the Pamplona train station a little after 1 pm. (13:00). The only ALSA bus will have already left at the time I get to Pamplona. The Camino taxi service only runs Mon through Friday.
I feel I may have to stay in Pamplona for the night or rent a car to get to SJPP.
What plans have you made?
