Hi! I will be walking my first Camino Santiago on the Frances route at the end of April, 2023. I am flying into Barcelona and can find trains going to Pomplano but cannot find any bus schedules or costs from Pomplano to St Jean PdP. Using web bus searches come up empty and Rome2rio has me taking a train to Pomplano and a car to St Jean PdP. When does the bus schedules come out?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I always take a bus to saint jean from Pamplona. I use the omio app. You can buy tickets there. I believe there are only one or two buses a day. You can also use the Alsa app to book a bus. Good luck and Buen Camino!!

Larry, this is probably because it is out of season now. ALSA should have the schedule up well before you go. Each year the Route Napoleon is closed until 1 April, so there is not much demand until then.

If you look at some of these older threads you will see past schedules.

Thanks you. I was hoping that, that was the case. I'll be patient.

When we did it in 2017, there were two buses a day--one at about 10 in the morning and one in the late afternoon. We had planned to go in the morning, but decided to delay so that we could walk around Pamplona for a few hours. It's a short ride so the later bus allowed us plenty of time to prepare for beginning the Camino the next day. You can buy your tickets at the station.

Buen Camino!

In 2022, there was only a noon bus. This made it necessary to either spend the night in Pamplona or take a taxi service. I just booked for 119 euro for end of March. They can sometimes match you with a couple of other pilgrims. I am not sure when the schedule comes out, but was told (not verified) that a different company was running the route.

The bus service is down every winter and usually starts up again in early March. When schedules show up is more variable. You might see the listing maybe two months in advance but maybe one month. There's been changes in what used to be a pretty standard schedule and procedure since the pandemic.

I checked the website of the Alsa bus company today. The timetable for Pamplona to SJPP is there and tickets can be bought for the period 16 March 2023 to 15 July 2023 (at least). Time of departure is 12:00 and the ticket costs €22. Both are exactly the same as in 2022 if memory does not fail me.

Example for end of April 2023:

I also checked Rome2rio and Omio and they are "not able to find a bus between these two places".

So these third-party websites are either not yet up to date or not as good as they used to be or as they are said to be. It is always a good idea to check the website of the actual service provider themselves.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
At Alsa SJPdP cannot be abbreviated this way or with an St. Spell it with Saint. Good news though, When I typed in S the town's name appeared in a selection list. This didn't happen as quickly the last time I checked
