Almost everyone is on the sidelines; is it more "being with the bulls" rather than "running with the bulls?"

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

What you can't see in this photo is the mob ahead of the bulls. If you watch the video, you see a big bunch of people running in front of the bulls. This photos is taken just before the spot called 'Dead Man's Curve' (or something like that) where the bulls and runners slip and slide around a corner onto Calle Estefeta, which is the long, final stretch to the bull ring.

A friend who was there on the 10th told me that if you aren't in front of the pack or directly with it, you could get stopped when they close the gates after the bulls pass. He was on the sidelines, at the curve, because there were too many people there to actually jump into the fray. Then when he tried to follow after the crowd passed, he got stopped.

Crazy, but he said that 'being with the bulls' was exhilarating enough for him!
