There are some blackout dates, but that is a good rate. Specials through the end of the year. Lots of other paradores on the caminos also offering low prices, many for 60 or 70.

With just a quick run through, here are some on the camino:
For 66€ — Ferrol (Inglés), Pontevedra (Portugués), Villafranca del Bierzo (Francés), Fuente Dé (Lebañiego), Puebla Sanabria (Sanabrés), Zafra (Vdlp), Cervera de Pisuerga (Olvidado), Tui (Portugués), Monforte (Invierno), Córdoba (Mozárabe), Vilalba (Norte)

For 70€ — Mérida (vdlp), Santillana del Mar (Norte), Ávila (Levante), Santo Domingo de la Calzada (Francés), Segovia (Madrid), Gijón (Norte), Salamanca (Vdlp), Zamora (Vdlp)

Nothing wrong with an occasional splurge, IMO, though I will say that I like a lot of the paradores on this list more than the one in Santiago, just my opinion!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
And for anyone in or around Ourense, I would just add a shout out for a non-camino parador — Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil (70€ on this promotion). It is an ancient monastery with multiple cloisters out in the middle of nowhere with lots of walking paths around. It is located on the Sil River (though not near the part of the Sil where the Invierno passes) and is very close to the Sil River Gorge and about four or five really wonderful romanesque monasteries/churches. One of the most beautiful non-coastal parts of Galicia, IMO.

The decoration is a bit jarring to a traditionalist like me, since they have gone kind of “post-modern”, but the building itself is really amazing.

A great way to spend a few days post-Camino, only 120 km from Santiago.

The Parador in Ferrol is a good deal. It’s in the middle of the Arsenal area. Wonderful service from the front desk and a lovely outdoor patio where you can ring for service and enjoy a cocktail.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
