Hi all
Has anyone used an online cloud type service for sharing, sending, storing photos home whilst walking the camino? I was looking at Flickr but need some advice as I have never used it before.

Hi Eric!

I have used Flickr ever since 2009. It is easy to open an account and set up your photostream. If you are shooting with a smartphone or tablet once you open an account you can then make a link to automatically post to your blog and send the photo to your photostream with one click. Give it a try!

I used Flickr for our pictures in 2008 and found it a great way to share. Today's version of Flickr is even better, especially if you are using a smartphone.
Lately I have been using an Eye-Fi SD card that electronically connects to a wifi device to transfer pictures automatically. My camera does not do that. But it will also automatically load them on Flickr, which eliminates much of the work we had to do on public computers in 2008. I plan to do that on our Camino this summer.
Make sure to subscribe to the Professional level of Flickr so you will have plenty of space for your pictures also.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
But if want to use your camera?. I too use flickr and the upload system is time consuming from an sd card, well it is on the pc's I got to use on my caminos. Some of the local library/multi use centres had great pcs. I am experimenting/toying with a iphone + camera. But today I could not see anything through the camera lcd screen so i can't imagine what quality images I would get. Flickr is good. I'd be happy sharing a few images and wait until you get home to upload rest. Am told the icloud is great.

Thank you all very much, Flickr sounds like it might be the way to go. I really want to get this sorted out prior to commencing my camino. I totally intend to enjoy my camino and not spend half my time figuring out computer stuff.
Thanks again all.
Regards
Eric.

Eric,

As of mid May 2013 every Flickr member has 1 terabyte of storage, for free. (How many photos can fit in a terabyte? Over 500,000. Read this for more info.
