Place to stay in Ponferrada- now

Time of past OR future Camino
Walking since 2008, various stages of French,Norte and Via del Plata- addicted to the Way
I’m on the bus on the way to ponferrada
Just looking for some guidance from anyone who happens to be there now or who has recently passed through.
I’m not as prepped as usual
So all guidance appreciated

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I've stayed at the same Albergue in 2014. It will be quite empty this time of year I suspect. I also stayed at the Hotel Aroi Bierzo Plaza in the Plaza Ayuntamiento 2017 and it was acceptable at relatively inexpensive for a hotel room.
 
I initially planned to spend a night in Ponferrada at this hotel: http://hotellostemplarios.es/en/

I didn't end up staying there, however - I ended up deciding it was too far for me to walk from Rabanal to Ponferrada in one day and I ended up stopping in Molinaseca for the night instead!
 
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
