Anyone remember a good shop to buy poles or a walking stick before we head over the Pass? We will be starting in Aigle. Don't plan to pack poles due to TSA.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

There is a sports shop, Cristal Sports in Orsières. It is one of the places that can supply snowshoes to rent for people walking in the snowy months. It was closed when I passed on a Saturday evening (but I had not planning to go), but I presume they would have poles.

Martigny is a significant town and presumably would have a sports shop also.
PS if you hire shoes there you send them back with the post van when you get to Italy!
I dont remember any shops like that but do consider time of day and which days you might arrive in these larger towns to ensure the shops will be open .
Hello! I'm starting research on the VF and, having walked the Camino Francés, I wonder how laundry/hand washing facilities and situations compare on the Francigena.
I know there are more private...
