Time of past OR future Camino
last year and this year
Hi,

This year I am going to start my Camino in Ponferrada. It will be on Sunday in August.
Could you please recommend me church in Ponferrada with Sunday mass?
I would prefer Sunday morning mass at 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM.

I found link to churches with masses on Camino but I am not sure if it is correct.

According to this link there are no Sunday masses in Ponferrada. Is it correct?

Thank you for your help,

Marek

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Dear Marek

I was in Ponferrada on a Saturday and they had an evening mass at the Basilica de la Ensina. I'm not sure about morning Sunday though, but I had the impression it was a daily service. The church is just beside the Templar Castle, really easy to find.

Ponferrada is amazing, beautiful place to start! I loved the golden arrows on the walls!

Hi Guys,

Thank you for your information.
I will arrive to Ponferrada by train around 9:00 AM on Sunday and will walk to Villafranca.
Because I will be with 13 years old son so I try to plan as much as possible.
For us, only Sunday morning mass in Ponferrada or Sunday evening mass in Villafranca is option

I will appreciate for any information what you may have.

Thank you,

Marek

You could catch this mass on the way from Ponferrada to Camponaraya:
Iglesia de Columbrianos - Ponferrada (León)
HORARIO DE MISA:
Domingos y festivos:
12:30 y 18:00 horas

True we are pilgrims but it is possible to utilize the services of modern technology and even tourist info offices. Try an e-mail to the Hospitalarios at the alberbue there, Saint Nickolas de Flue, they will know.
peregrinosflue@terra.com
Far too often one sees pilgrims scratching their heads, what now? What to do? Where gto eat? as they stand a block away from the Tourist Info office. May be located in the ayuntamiento but it will be marked.

The Tourism Office in ponferrada is just outside the walls of the Templar Castle! Easy to find.

Thank you all for your information.

I will take mass in

Parroquia de la Asunción de Nuestra Señora - Fuentes Nuevas (Ponferrada)
HORARIO DE MISA:
Martes a sábado: 10:00 horas
Domingos y festivos: 11:00 horas

It is outside Camino walk but I think that it should be easy to find it.

Do you know if we can trust information about masses in this link
