The restoration work on the Portico de la Gloria is nearly complete and there is to be an official opening ceremony on Monday. However, access will still be restricted for some time by other work on the facade and the need to protect the sculpture from damage by visitors. La Voz de Galicia has published an article about the restoration work which features a slideshow of some of the repainted figures. Very different from the work carried out in Estella which provoked such a storm of protest earlier this week!
