Has anyone stayed at the private hostel near Porto Airport (AirPorto Hostel on Rua da Estrada)?
I'm wondering how easy it is to detour from the actual camino route going out of Porto to get to the hostel and then get back to the marked route the next morning.
I've emailed the hostel directly but not got any response (which is a cause for concern in itself !!!).
Any first-hand experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tony

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I stayed in this hostel a few months back, it is very pleasant, clean and friendly. The staff were helpful and phoned ahead for me to book other hostels, and gave me an adapter for my phone. Its close to a stop on the local metro, so you can take the metro to the hostel, and then the camino is not far to start the next morning. I'm afraid I don't know the exact route as we arrived at the airport and then took the train to Barcelos to start walking. I have to admit that one of my deepest regrets of any camino happened here... I didn't discover until the next morning that there was a good selection of port to try...

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Here is a screenshot from my camino (yellow line on the right), the green marker is the Hostel. It says it's about 1,5km via Rua da Estrada to the north, Av. do Aeroporto to the East BUT I haven't walked there and don't know if there are normal sidewalks.

Hope you have the chance to download the app, offline map and also the camino track. Looking at the map I would go via rua da estrada up and follow it turn slighly right to rua da botica all the way to en542 where it joins the camino. Distance wise just under 3 km.

Thanks for responses, guys.
Using your maps and Brierley's guide, I am now confident that I can find my way.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
the easiest way to reach the airporto hostel would be to follow Caminho da Costa from Padrao da Légua towards the airport, which passes directly by the hostel. about 6 kms from padrao da légua. the route should be waymarked and starts along Rua Fonte Velha.

to go back to CPC, continue from the hostel to the first big crossroad, with N-107, turn R and follow the road until you meet CPC. about 1.5 km.
