Hi Anne, have you actually looked at the links to the bus websites?

I tried Sunday 25 March and got:

On Rede Expressos:
departures at 17:00 and 18:00

On AV Minho:
Porto to Viano do Castelo: departures at 08:00, 11:00, 16:00 and 19:00
Viana do Castelo to Ponte de Lima: departures at 11:45, 16:40 and 19:20

Hi Anne,

I actually did this last October.
I took a train from the central Sao Bento station (Via Campanhã ) to Viana do Castelo (about 90 minutes) and then went to a lower level underneath the train station to the bus terminus and caught a bus to Ponte de Lima (about 40 minutes). I had researched this quite a bit and this was the best way to do the trip. (I think it cost roughly about €12 all in)

A suitably timed direct bus was quite hard to find

If you require any further info please message me back and I'll be happy to provide same.

Ponte de Lima is a beautiful town to start the Camino - it is just so full of character and history.

My profile pic was taken 10 minutes into my first Camino looking back on the bridge (Ponte) as the sun ws rising.
Envious of your trip - Enjoy !!!

My apologies - I just seen by the dates you have already started - hope you found a way of getting there and that your Camino is going well
