Does anybody know if a Covid test result is currently required to pass either way across the Portugal/Spain border?

I believe that Galacia still requires you to register within 24 hours of arriving in the region - that would mean when walking in from PT. Here is a link that may be helpful. Maybe someone else can offer more details on this process...
Coronavirus travelers (sergas.gal)
Registration is no longer required. Portugal is exempt due to Resolución of 4 March 2022. Here's the link that mentions the exemption: https://www.sergas.es/Saude-publica/benvida-viaxeirxs?idioma=es.
