Hello, everyone!

In November we walked the Portugese central route with our 2 kids, which was an absolutely amazing experience and an endurance test for both kids and us (for example, bringing a sleeping baby in carriage up a mountain :D )
We want to share our story which consists of 2 videos. I hope somebody who wants to do the way with kids finds inspiration in our videos.
1st part (in Portugal) -
2nd part (in Spain) -

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Not the best weather, but definitely the best attitude! Congratulations to you and your children on this amazing journey.

You are brave! I didn't know about the Camino when my kids were little, but I wish I could have done one with them! Perhaps not quite that young - but I think my boys would have loved it when they were about 6-10 years old.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

3 and 4 years also seemd to be a good time, as they are amazed by everything and are not bothered by, for example, rain.

What a timing! Great ressource for information and inspiration. Thank you so much!
My wife is from Latvia, as you are, and I met her on one of our Caminos. Now I am planning to do one of the Caminos together with our son, who is soon two years old, at some point later this year.
I will let my wife consume the information! :D How many kms did you do per day with the little ones?

That's a great plan! We did 16-17kms a day on average, the longest was 27km. We also did 2 rest days (sort of) with only 4kms each.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Thank you! How about the kids' motivation? Was it getting better with time or did it decline?
Personally, I would love to walk longer than a week to get into the groove and hope it's not getting to boring for the kids.

It was definitely better - in the first day (which was obviously too long) their legs were hurting a bit, so we took it easy for the next few days. In the end I had a feeling they can walk 30kms a day easily.
For kids their age it is definitely not boring - they find mushrooms, rocks, animals, fruits like figs or grapes, and, of course, if they become bored, You can always play the ultimate game "Let's find the next yellow arrow" :D

Hehe, yeah. I've played that ultimate game with my niece on the Camino Portugues back in 2017, but she was 12 at that time, so it was a different situation.
Thanks a lot!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Since I now have heard that we might be not allowed to stay at certain places with our 2 year old, I wanted to ask you about your experiences.
Have you been staying in albergues mostly or where have you spent the nights?
