Hello,
Will you please tell me where to buy J Brierly's Portuguese camino guidebook ? I left mine on board Air Canada from Toronto this morning.
I'm starting my walk in 2 days. I'm in Lisbon and will be in Porto tomorrow.

Thanks
Sofia

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi,

We went there but too late as it was closed. We are leaving early tomorrow so our next chance is Porto Cathedral. If not there, we'll just wing it.

Hi Sofia, if your flying to Porto, I'am sure a book shop at the airport should have it. If not, a book shop in Porto.
But if all else fails download one of the many apps onto your phone. You could also ask at a tourist office or find an internet café.
Hope you get sorted and in a few days it will be one of your Camino stories. Enjoy

  • I've been looking for a bookstore here in Lisbon but so far no luck. I'll try in Porto. Unfortunately we are taking a bus .

There is a tourist office directly near the Cathedral, they should have it. Bon Camiño, SY

The Lello Bookshop has the book with the shell on it - and the bookshop is definately worth a visit just to see inside (they refund your 3 euro if you buy something). http://www.ezportugal.com/porto-portugal/attractions-porto-portugal/lello-bookshop-porto

Didn't see the Brierly guide for sale anywhere (but then I wasn't looking). A lot of the tourist info places do have info about their section if you ask. The tourist office in Tui is also very good. If you are heading along the coast, the albergue at Labruge is a nice place to stay and a nice first day out of Porto. The tourist info office at Matosinhos were also really helpful.

Most of the pilgrims I met who had guides have the Brierly book - I was surprised how many people had started with no info and there were a lot of requests to copy pages out of books.

Bom caminho - Helen

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Linda, I would not recommend that little blue book, and would stick with Brierly. Walked with someone who had it and it is not helpful, more or a cute touristy book than a Camino book.

Sofia, perhaps you can plan where you will be in a few days and buy it online in the Forum shop and get Ivar to mail it to you there.

Sofia, if you stay at the albergue in Senora de la Hora, I'm sure the lovely hospies can get you sorted for a few days until Ivar can mail you a copy. Their daughter has walked the Camino and probably has a guide you can take notes from. They also have books (perhpas guides?) at the albergue.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Thank you all to those who responded. Gronze would have been another option. Good news, I was able to buy a new one from that popular Lello store in Porto. Did Vila do Conde today from Matosinhos
