Thanks, that's good to know. I'm planning to start from Lisbon around the 20th or 21st - I should be around Santarém on the 25th.One thing to note is that April 25 is Portugal's most important holiday (the anniversary of the 1974 revolution), so you may find a lot of places closed that day.
Somewhat relevant question. Are there accommodations to support 15 to 20 km days between Tomar and Coimbra? We are an old (late 60s) group of 3 wishing to start in Tomar and my research (Gronze) doesn't come up with a lot of options. The first day would be 31.7 km, ouch, too much of a challenge for a first day I think. Any thoughts? Much appreciated. That's a great option - the section from Tomar to Coimbra was my favourite part of the CP between Lisbon and Porto. Plus it will presumably give you time to explore the Convento do Cristo and the rest of Tomar before setting out. You can use Godesalco to plan your stages. It looks like you can make a 19.8 km stage to Vila Verde.Somewhat relevant question. Portuguese Central + Variante Espiritual:Would you mind sharing your stages from Porto to Santiago? I’m also trying to walk shorter days.
