So excited! My first camino (hopefully first of many), starting from Porto on April 1. Coming into Portugal from California on March 30 and meeting some hiking pals in Porto to begin our journey.

This forum has been such a great source of inspiration and valuable tips, I really appreciate it. Obrigada!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I will be interested in reading about your Camino. I plan to do the coastal route from Porto, starting in late September. Bom Caminho

Yes, I will post my trip reflections - it will be interesting to compare notes on spring versus fall caminos!
Bom Caminho to you!

Hope you had a bom Camino.
We’re planning to do our first Camino from Porto next April and interested in your experience with the weather, especially the cold rain.
Best,
Davian

Hi Davian! It was an amazing camino, and I may be back for another next April as well. We had really no cold rain at all, but we did have some cold, clear mornings along the Portuguese coast and rainy warm-ish days once in Spain. I brought a poncho, down vest and several lightweight layers and felt very comfortable. I posted a trip report with more details under my user profile, I'll see if I can link you to it. Feel free to ask any questions, happy to help. Such a great experience and so much to look forward to!
