Hello, I don't know if anyone will be able to advise. I'm using my wife's login to post a question as she is away on the Via de la Plata. She has asked if I can send a pair of shoes to Salamanca Post Office for her to collect in a couple of weeks.
I know this is fairly common on the caminos but I'm sending from France so our post office won't know how to label the package and neither do I. Has anyone done this from outside Spain, did it work and how did you indicate what you wanted to happen ?
Thanks in advance.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Sure, the system is the same no matter from where you send it (meaning from inside the EU, from outside the EU there might / will be custom problems!). So, label the parcel like this:

POSTE RESTANTE/LISTA DE CORREOS
Jane Doe
followed by the address of the post office you are sending the parcel to, for Salamanca main post office that would be:

LEON FELIPE 12
37007 SALAMANCA
Espagne/España/Spain

Hope that helps, SY

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Oh, and don't forget to tell your wife the exact address of the post office and tell her Buen Camino from me ;-) SY

Thank you all. Advice followed and parcel posted. She arrives in 12 days so fingers crossed ! Very kind of everyone to help.

Best wishes.

OK I'm going to be a real pain now ! It all seemed to be going so well, the parcel tracked in to Spain very quickly but then I had a message to say it couldn't be delivered as the address was incomplete. That is mad as the address was absolutely complete and checked with the Correos website. It was written on my label, on the back of the box in indeleible pen and on the Colissimo label.
I've emailed the French sending post office but they have replied to say they can't help as the parcel is no longer in France (very helpful for an international service!). I've emailed Correos customer service (using google translate) but no reply so I'm puzzled how to proceed. I am wondering if this message is just because the box hasn't been delivered in to my wife's hands - of course as it's post restante and she hasn't arrived yet.
Any suggestions ? Many thanks.

Can you PM me the message and the answer/request you want to send? I try to help to figure it out. SY

I’m at Almadén de la Plata at the moment, and my options for tomorrow are to go as far as El Real de la Jara (approx 14km) or continue on to Monesterio (approx 34km). 34 km is a bit far for day 4...

One route looks a bit steeper, one a bit longer (not much). How else are they different? Recommendations?
