Time of past OR future Camino
I plan to walk the Camino between 18th, August, and 26th, September, 2014
Is it advisable to pre-book accommodation at SJPDP for first night

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
August will be busy and a confirmed reservation will set your mind at ease.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Pat,

I always stay at the municipal albergue which does NOT take reservations.
Here are three separate listings from the SJPdP Office de Tourisme for
pilgrim albergues, tourist hotels and chambres d'hotes in SJPdP itself. Scan these for reservation possibilities.

L'Esprit du Chemin is now under new ownership and is called Beilari: http://www.beilari.info/en

Reports from this spring say the pilgrim spirit is alive and well there as always. Beilari is located directly across the cobblestone street from the Pilgrim's Office.

For something private I like Errecaldia with British Tim: http://www.errecaldia.com/index.php/en/ Errecaldia is located about 300 yards (3 minute walk) from the Pilgrim's Office, the opposite direction you will walk when you head towards Spain.
