You will see a place to make an appointment. That doesn’t mean that walk-ups are not allowed, but having an appointment is probably the safest bet if you are leaving on a flight the same day.

I used them to get back to the UK from Porto. I called from Santiago city centre the day before to see if they were busy and they weren't, so I went straight to the airport - buses are cheap, taxis are fast. Before, or even after, you arrive you download an app and make an appointment, book your type of test and then pay at the desk before your test. I got the result very quickly as they weren't busy, and they weren't too expensive either. My hotel kindly printed the document and QR code for me, but if yours can't, try Pilgrim House in Rua Nova 19 - they help with all practical and spiritual needs for a donation.

It does not help you if you are on the 06:30 flight to Madrid. When I left abruptly the second week in mid-September, I was able to get an antigen test (acceptable to return to the US) at HM Roseleda.

I called the international department (+34.689.163.922) where someone helped me in English and told me I could just walk in before 1300 or after 1600. Just ask: "Puedes ayudarme en ingles por favor?" (can you help me in English please?)

As I was at the pilgrim office and it was about 12:15, I dropped what I was doing and got a taxi to get me there before 13:00. This private hospital is located almost across Rua do Horreos from the train station in the Ensanche neighborhood. It is maybe a 10 -15 minute walk from Park Alameda.

They were very nice, polite, professional and FAST. It cost €40 cash. The results were e-mailed to me in about 2.5 hours. I departed for home the next morning on the 06:30 plane to Madrid. It was an unplanned, early return. This is why I was scrambling.

Just a note that this testing center no longer exists at SCQ. Not sure if they'll re-instate it once high season hits again, but there are not even traces of the eurofins megalab in SCQ anymore, nor is Santiago listed on the website.
