Preview of the Invierno...at a different pace

Time of past OR future Camino
Yearly and Various 2014-2019
Via Monastica 2022
I've been wondering about the Invierno, and was delighted to get a preview of a section of it yesterday on the train from Leon. Spectacular landscape and parts of it looked quite wild--very different from the mostly tamed landscape from Triacastella onwards. But there are area few biggish towns too. A nice mix. And quite different. I am even more interested.
But--and I know this will sound stupid 3 Caminos later but never mind--I was also amazed by this whole Camino business. Taking the train really gives a different sense of the distance we cover on foot, step by step. It doesn't seem like that big a deal one day at a time. But...we walk a very long way!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Well, Viranani, I am betting that the number of pilgrims is going to start increasing and that the albergues will follow in the not too distant future. It is an amazing walk, so on the theory that the best antidote to post-Camino blues is to start planning the next one, just download the forum guide from the resources section and start dreaming!

Ha, Laurie, great idea! But it's long since been downloaded and read. So yesterday I'd been following the train journey with my map app and it was exciting to realize that I'd be getting a sneak peek of some of the places that were just names on a screen.
And for anyone out there, regardless of whether you want to walk the Invierno or not...it's quite a gorgeous train journey. Highly recommended.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
