Let's say you're a Camino veteran who had three weeks to walk the Primitivo ... here are three options that would take around 18-22 days each (based upon the Gronze stages).

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

First choice:-
Coastal route, mountains, and for me a longer time scale. The Norte from Santander and then the Primitivo gives a chance of making shorter stages based on Gronze.
If time was limited then the Salvador-Primitivo route would allow for shorter stages, but none of the wonderful coastal scenery, and I would have to look hard at how to split the Salvador.

MichaelC why not do the first part of the Norte and then bus to Oviedo? That is what I have decided to do in May, based on other people's descriptions of which parts of the Norte they liked best.

Tough choices. I'd have to go with San Salvador or Finisterre. San Salvador if you want a physical challenge with awesome scenery or Finisterre if you want to complete that traditional Camino experience to the sea. Buen Camino!

My vote would be the Salvador, As beautiful as the Norte is, I found it too touristy.

btw: MichaelC, I'm off to do the LePuy this summer and appreciate what you have posted over on that forum. Do you have specific notes on lodging and food that you would like to share on LePuy-SJPD?
