I am looking at two pensions in Arzua.

Pension Rua
Meson do Peregrino

Has anyone here stayed at either of these?
Feedback?
Are they convenient? Clean? Quiet? Noisy?

Or if you know of another that can be reached via email, I would appreciate information.
The place we usually stay is bouncing back emails.

Hello,
I stayed in pension Carballeira and the following year in Mesón del Peregrino, they're just opposite each other.
M del Peregrino was fine, clean, and very convenient - a few minutes' walk from the main square . Nothing very luxurious but I would stay there again. I don't know Pension Rua, sorry.

Hi Annie, I stayed there this year with my wife on the Sarria Santiago Camino. Its very clean and has very nice staff. When you leave in the morning just turn left and you are on the Camino. Slept like a log so didn't find it noisy. Nice cafe next door for coffee and early morning breakfast.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Laurie, I did check out Teodora. I've stayed there and loved it but it was already full both nights!
Unbelieveable!
Lots of folks doing tours this year.
It's going to be busy!

I actually found a lovely little Casa Rural people might be interested in.
It is in Casteneda and is called Casa La Calleja.
You can find photos on the internet.
In fact, I think booking.com has it listed, but not as available, as they are doing work on the house.
But the pictures look fantastic!

It is literally right on the Camino about 6 miles before Arzua.
That stretch from Palas to Arzua is one people often complain about, so this year, we'll make the climb into the hills the next morning and after that, it's flat walking to Arca do Pino. I'll report back.

Thanks Wayfarer. I have booked the second group there at Pension Rua.
Thanks everyone.
Problem solved.

On the basis that other folks might come along later looking for places in Arzua I'll put in a shout for the albergue turistico santiago apostol where I stayed this last August.
OK, from the outside it looks like a holiday apartment in Majorca, but I felt very comfortable there. The hospitaleros were helpful in a business-like way and there's a good restaurant attached at the back that's open pretty much all day and evening. Pilgrims washed clothes and whiled away the evening in the inner courtyard. The dormitories were new, clean and well-appointed. The room accommodation at the back was fine and some of us shared a big balcony. The downside being that on the balcony-side you get to hear all the noise in the courtyard through the night.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
