In March & April 2016 we walked from Seville to Puebla de Sanabria then rain & snow & flooding put a stop to our plans to continue to Santiago.
We will return to complete the walk to Santiago in late Sept or early October. Can anybody advise on best month for the weather for that part of Spain. We are also retired & will again look for private accommodation along the way so any information about Pensiones, Hotels & day sections to walk etc will be appreciated.

I personally walked Sanabres (and/or Invierno - almost the same region) in late spring or in summer but I also had some bad weather. I guess it would be even worse in Galicia in fall.

All other info are plentiful on this forum or:

Buen Camino!

Yes. September temperatures (on average) are more bearable than July and August. It can rain at any time of year but the driest months (on average) are in the summer.

The trouble with averages, however, is that they don't give you an accurate picture of what you will experience on any given day. If you put one foot in a bucket of iced water and the other in a bucket of water heated to 92ºC, the average temperature of your feet would be comfortable ...

Thanks for your advice regarding the weather. I am now pretty sure we will start again in mid Sept. I am trying to find more information on Hotels or private accommodation if any of you can help.

Thanks for the reference to web pages for accommodation. I will translate what I need & print it out.

Take a look at this website, it has a list of recommended albergues and private accommodation for each stage of the Via de la Plata with prices...

Hello Happy Hiker. We, too, are a retired couple planning on starting in Zamora next week. Maybe our paths will cross. Buen Camino!

I´ve got Camino plans until 2042,
- or till I fall flat on my face, whichever comes first !!
Sitting in Publo de Sanabria and it is a beautiful sunshine. Have had days of severe winds and the mornings are getting colder...
