First fire, then wind, now flood. Galicia heads Europe's rainfall charts again, with Corunna having 72mm over the last 48 hours and Santiago 68mm. This has lead to flash floods in places, particularly badly in Cee near Fisterra. Photos here and here.
I was in Cee earlier today, and the water is now gone but still a lot of mud in the streets. Store windows were broken and cars were tossed around by the water masses creating a bit of chaos. With the fires earlier this summer there is not a lot to keep the mud from starting to slide once it rains a bit….
Should be no problems for pilgrims on their way to Finisterre... it has even stopped raining (!)... for now. More in the forecast.
