Switched from coastal to interior yesterday by bus to Ponte de Lima. Already had a few very wet days and it doesn't look like it is going to change anytime soon. It poured relentlessly during the night and I have abandoned my plans to tackle the climb and descent to Rubiaes. Taxi it is, but that leaves me with a lot of time on my hands, already explored PdL yesterday. Anything in Rubiaes worth poking around for?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
As I remember it there isn't much in Rubies. A couple of albergues, a grocery store and a couple of restaurants. Valenca and Tui the next day have more to do.

Its probably wise to void the climb over the mountain from PdL as its like to be a river running down the rocks which is the track. I agree about Rubiaes. Valenca and particularly Tui are far more interesting.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

If that was the place with the beds (not bunks) and when we were there purple bedspreads, there is I think a Roman house or ruin on the outskirts of town. Wifi was in the cafe down the street. (It's been since 2015, my memory may not be correct on the name of the town.)

Hi all, wondering about the terrain between ponte de lima and rubaies, appreciate it is steep but it the ground level? Meant to he pushing a buggy up tomorrow so great to know if it's not possible thanks

The ground is not smooth. It is rocky, with uneven levels and roots. The downhill side has more and larger rocks. A baby carriage or stroller would have to be carried. A pull-behind buggy with your pack would likely be tipping all over the place.

I would like to walk the river route in Tui next month. I can see on google maps exactly where it starts, but it seems a bit overgrown. Has anybody used this route this year or last year...
Hello, my friend of 50+ years and I are on our first Camino walk. We are looking for: 1) safe, comfortable hostels in Lisbon; 2) stages from Lisbon to Porto (via Tomar) in about 16 days...
Hi I have searched everywhere to see if there is a luggage service from Lisbon to Porto. I know there is from Porto to Santiago, but Lisbon ???. Thanks for any info.
