Thank you very much for sharing this information. With so many Camino books on the market, its getting more challenging to find interested publishers.

This was the second post in the thread started by another person. The original post was deleted as it was from a one time poster and the post below casts doubt on its intentions. Moderator

Re: Great publisher

With the changes publishing went through in recent years there is really no reason not to publish your book yourself. Amazon allows you to self-publish both on Kindle and in print (via Createspace) - for free! Also be aware that many "publishing houses" that now appear everywhere are little more than scammers. Not saying that the one here mentioned is one, btw, didn't check it out, but if there are warning signs like "you pay, we ..." you should be careful. A real publisher will pay YOU, not the other way round. SY

PS For those of you that are serious about (self) publishing a book, feel free to join this G+ community https://plus.google.com/u/0/communities ... 2108553998 We have 700+ members from all styles of life and publishing and all levels of experience. It is a good point to ask questions before you sign up for anything that costs money ...

Re: Great publisher

Thanks for the work you went to to check this guy out. I have had a publisher professionally for years, so Im ok when I have a manuscript-as you point out, he pays me!-and it should never be the other way around. When self publishing was new, it was very expensive, but happily that's changed so now lots of writers have that option as well. For me , I'm happy with my publisher because on top of paying me, he does all the cover design(pending my approval,)and marketing, which saves me a lot of work, and as a disabled person I really appreciate anything that saves legwork.Im saving them for my Camino!

Re: Great publisher

I've just published an ebook "The Italian Camino", about my Via Francigena pilgrimage to Rome through Amazon. I did a lot of research before I decided to go with Amazon. I found the process to be very simple, ethical and free. I used a professional formatter, as I am not very technical, and a professional cover designer, using one of my own photos. I got those people through Smashwords Mark's List. Both were very reasonably priced, helpful and had a fast turnaround. It is an amazing feeling to have people read your book and enjoy it - go for it!

Congatulations!!! There is such satisfaction when you publish a book, isn't there! And the thrill of seeing your name on the cover. I wish you success, and many more books to come.
