Many potential options on EBay. Mine was barely 4 ounces and worked great.

I had a very nice silk liner from Sea-to_summit on my first camino, and loaned it to Spouse for his first and bought a less expensive one for me to take when I joined him mad-way. Stick with the expense for one with the stretchy side panels!!

bedbugs really don't care about your liner... they will bite your arms or face sticking out of the liner...

Permethrin takes hours to kill them so won't prevent new arrivals from biting you.

BUT: cetirizine (Reactine) tablets will stop bites from itching, and BB's do not transmit infections to humans.

If you don't itch, you're unlike to open your skin to infection.

Problem largely solved.

A few times
Many brands and styles of bag liners on the market. I bought one that cost about 5 euros, is lightweight, synthetic and packs in a small bag...about the size of a soda can. That is all I carry with me on summer Caminos. I find no need for an actual sleeping bag.
Look on amazon. There is bound to be one that will work for you.
As far as making one bedbug proof with poison? I am not totally convinced that works, and personally I do not like the idea of wrapping myself up in a sack soaked with carcinogens. That is just me. Also on about 180 nights on Camino(s) I have never been bitten by a bedbug.

I, too, used the Sawyer Permathrin spray as a bedbug prevention. However, I’ve always chosen to take a one-season sleeping bag instead of a liner. On any number of occasions, the warmth offered by the bag was most welcomed. The Fjallraven sleeping bag I carry only weighs 17 ounces. As I’m not sure what the blanket situation will be in albergues post-Covid, caring a very light weight sleeping bag would be my recommendation.

I bring my silk sleep sack and pillowcase, and a very lightweight down blanket that's just big enough to tuck inside the silk liner when I need it for extra warmth. The weight of all my sleeping gear is less than a pound. I spray all of it with Sawyer's permethrin.

Permethrin takes hours to kill them so won't prevent new arrivals from biting you.
As @Faye Walker says, a treated sleeping bag is not going to stop bedbugs from biting you. What it should do is kill bedbugs over time so that you aren't transporting them from albergue to albergue. I also spray inside my backpack and all of my cloth stuff sacks with permethrin.

I've never used a liner - I just hang my sleeping bag on the clothesline and spray the OUTSIDE of my bag with Permethrin.

I know many people say it doesn't work - but so far so good.
Since 2006 I've had ONE suspected bedbug bite and that was in 2006 on my first Camino.
I thought it was a spider bite - had no idea about bedbugs back then.

I'm not convinced a liner works any better than Permethrin.
Just softer on the bedbugs' little tootsies!

Ask three pilgrims and you will get six answers. I really like silk liners, BUT I NEED a liner with a full zipper - frequent nighttime bathroom trips. Also, as you can interpolate from my avatar photo, I am not a petite fellow. Liners that you have to shimmy into and out of don't work for me.

After trying many alternatives, over several years and Caminos, I finally stumbled on these US made liners:

I have used the Rectangular Liner. It is made of a heavy(ish) microfiber material but it is not fleece. It folds and compresses into a one gallon ziplock bag. I toss it in the very bottom of my rucksack as I usually stay in small hostals. But, if I have to stay in an albergue - it has happened - this did the trick.

Another key feature, in addition to the two, side full-separating zippers (you can pair two bags together for a couple), this bag is machine washable. This is a key feature should you run into bed bugs. When you find yourself with access to a lavadora (washing machine) you can wash the liner and it will line dry VERY fast.

For a pillow, I carry a Sea to Summit inflatable pillow that folds to the size of a large avocado. I could live without this if I wanted to shave a few ounces.

For colder nights, I wear my clean outfit for the next day, and my fleece jacket, as needed. This is a standard technique. I never have to wear my long trousers. Usually, just my undershorts, socks, t-shirt and fleece are more than enough with this microfiber liner.

Hope this helps,

Tom

I put my sleeping bag inside the silk liner. I pack my bag and silk liner in a separate wet bag from my clothes so avoid Ross contamination as much as that’s possible.

Camino Frances 2016 & 2018. Cherry picking routes 2019.
Another vote for the Sea to Summit. Light and very small and it should be fine for summer use in Spain.

I have used a cocoon silk rectangle silk sheet. @t2andreo maybe you need the double.🤣😂 I put my down quilt inside the travel sheet.

I use the soak method method to apply the permethrin.
I had the double-wide. At the time, I was very large, indeed. Presently, I am much smaller - not my idea. But, I'll take a severe (20 kg) weight loss any way I can find it.

Without at least a half zip, snap or velcro fastener down the side so I can get out to get to the loo, it won't work for me.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hope this helps,

Tom
