Recommended 5 day/100km walk in October

Hi
I am new to this foru and planning my first mini camino. Due to life constraints I can only walk 5days of the camino at the beginning of october. I am reasonably fit and excited about the adventure ahead but would really hope that I would not be walking in 5 days of rain! Any suggestions for my route?

Sarria to Santiago. Plenty of company; get a Compostela.

For once and just this once, I must disagree with Falcon.
1) Once you have your Compostela, you will need a very strong motivation to return a second time.
2) October should be good Fall season weather, one of my favorite seasons since I live in a desert country with few real forests. You should experience cooler weather, trees changing colors, and shorter days for walking.
Far too many trees in Galicia are eucalyptus which don't change color so I would choose an area with forests say Roncesvalles to Estella if you take a fancy to Pamplona (I do) or on to Los Arcos (if not). This will give you a first taste of tradition at Roncesvalles, a lovely Spanish town at Pamplona and the cathedral, the not so difficult climb to Alto Pedron and the statues, the "Templar" church at Eunate, Puente la Reina to explore, and Estella who's beauty must be sought out all with plenty of trees along the way, vineyards of Navarre and Rioja wine, and mountain views plus many good reasons to come back and do it again.

Two other ideas:-
The Camino Inglés - 5 day stages Ferrol to Santiago. (Guide downloadable - route and albergues/hostales.)
The Camino Primitivo from Lugo to Santiago. (See Gronze site for stages/albergues) You can be walking from Lugo while still waiting to get from there to Sarria.

Both of these routes satisfy the 100km requirement and are easy to access from the airports.

The Inglés was my first Camino, followed by the Primitivo.

Read the threads on the 5 day walk Ferrol to Santiago (Camino Ingles). It's a very nice quiet walk with good support in place. For whatever it might be worth, it also gives one the sense of a "complete" Camino as opposed to simply doing 5 days of the other routes.

That's a difficult question to ask. I've walked from SJPdP to Finisterre and don't see how I could recommend one section over another ... My recommendation would be to find enough time to make a longer journey.

There are many parts of the camino that would be suitable for a 5 day walk. You could pick any spot to start and have an excellent experience.

One approach would be to start in LePuy. Then, if you decide you want to come back another time you can continue where you left off.

Another approach would be to consider the Camino to Finisterre or the Camino Ingles.
