I think today set a record for compostelas, 2,789, eclipsing a three-year-old record, which was on August 9, 2015!! The heat is not keeping pilgrims away.

Not quite I think. Back in 2015 you posted that there were 3,013 Compostelas on a single day. I don't recall seeing any single day's figure greater than that!
Edit: on Friday 27 July this year there were 2,949 Compostelas issued. An astounding number.

Wow amazing! Any volunteers in the Pilgrim’s Office here? It must be wild taking care of that many people?

And then 2,894 today eclipsing yesterday, which is now a one day record! July 24, 2015 is still the record at 3,039 (I missed it in my records for the earlier post).
