Refuge d'Orisson in 2 weeks

I have 9 more sleeps till I leave Australia!! Very excited and nervous at the same time.

I'm planning to stay in St Jean Pied de Port on October 15 to start walking the next day. I've tried e-mailing Orisson in English and in French (thanks to my son!) to book in for the night of the 16th. No reply. I e-mailed them about a month ago and they said they'd be open. Has anyone else had a problem contacting them for an October booking?

Buen camino to all those other October walkers,

Brenda

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thanks Margaret for the other address. Alas, still no reply. Perhaps I'm impatient as well as excited and nervous. Jody, when are you walking?

Brenda,
I'm walking on October 8th. Maybe I will run into you? I will post my experience getting to SJPdP and let you know how it goes with no French language skills!

Good luck Jody! If you get in to Orisson, let them know I'm coming on the 16th! Have a safe and happy camino, doubt that I'll catch up with you but it'd be fun to meet up.

Buen Camino,

Brenda

That's great Brenda. It seems like a few people have had the same issue with the 'contact' section of their website, so it is time they fixed it really  All the best for your Camino!

I did not stay in Orisson so cannot help you there. However, since you are going in October it might not be necessary to have a reservation. There are lots of beds there. With respect to starting right away, I flew from Canada, (over two days travel) and made the mistake of starting my Camino the very next morning at 7a.m. I hope you will have some down time after your long trip from Australia, to rest and relax before starting. that way you will really enjoy the hike through the Pyrenees and not be dragging yourself like i was.
