The Xunta and the Archdiocese has allocated 594,269€ to renovate the pilgrims' facilities in the "Casa del Dean", the centuries-old building where the pilgrims' office is housed.
The courtyard will be opened and fitted out to serve as a waiting area for those pilgrims waiting to go up for their Compostela. There will also be a free storage place for up to 300 backpacks and dozens of bicycles. There will be bathrooms and a sort of information-cum-travel-agency desk where even bus tickets may be purchased and an expanded souvenir store.
All this is scheduled to be completed by the Summer.
