I have no commercial interest in this puff piece, but found it an interesting possibility:
Camino de Santiago by Horse

By James Martin, About.com Guide August 8, 2013

"The First ever Camino and pilgrimage to Santiago was traveled by King Alfonso II of Asturias, during the 9th Century. As a king, he journeyed the Camino by horse."

If the thought of walking the Camino de Santiago makes you wish you were 20 years old and free to be dirty and sweaty for a month or so, why not do it like a king?

You can. The last 150 km to Santiago, Camino by Horse is your touchstone to kingly rewards. It starts in the very interesting town of O Cebreiro in Galicia and is reasonably priced for a tour that leaves you to ride in a kingly way without all the muss and fuss of having to take care of your own horse.
