Someone has posted 3 pilgrims are lost on the Napoleon today. What have you heard?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
That was all I found too and I know the weather is very nice in Biarritz today.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
It is the middle of February. The Napoleon Pass is officially closed.

Hopefully they will be found, safe. Then they should be fined and charged with the costs of their rescue.

Stupid should be painful...and very expensive...

There is a reason why the pass is closed until April. Sheesh!

There is also a newspaper article here. It always surprises me that neither the rescue team nor the media make any mention of the fact that the route Napoleon between Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and Roncesvalles is currently closed for pilgrims until the end of March. A missed opportunity for raising awareness, imo.

A woman aged 47, and her two sons aged 17 and 20, from Estella. The father drove them to the starting point and wanted to meet them again at the end of the day. When they didn't arrive and he couldn't contact them, he raised the alarm around 7 pm. The rescue team picked them up in the shelter near the high pass on the Napoleon route. They are merely described as "having lost their way".

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I agree this is a missed opportunity to raise awareness, maybe once we know (when/if) more about the fines we should re-post the thread.
I know from seeing some pictures the pilgrim who posted the warning on FB that the very same day it was brilliant spring time walk from Valcarlos. He mentioned that the Napoleon way markers were under a blanket of snow. The rescue videos make that quite obvious and as we all know the pass is closed until the end of March for a good reason.
